Hi Scott,

My name is Janet. When you got injured, I started a Facebook Support page for you. I go daily and I update it as soon as something comes up about you in the news or an article or when you have new followers.

When I first heard what happened to you, I searched for a page on Facebook to your name and couldn't find one, so I made this one for you on November 2nd. I hope you don't mind. My intentions were to send it to you once you recovered and I thought you might like to see it now since you're well on your way. I looked for your date of birth but couldn't find it or I would have written it on there in case your birthday came up.

I added a friend as another admin (his name is Joseph) I didn't know how long I would have access to the internet because my husband and I are living in uncertain circumstances (unemployed, facing homelessness and sick) Hopefully they won't turn for the worst but because we're on his last tier unemployment check, and of that the last check and little prospects of a job, I wanted to give you the page before things get even more hectic.

I wanted to tell you HOW much I appreciate what you did and do and the strength you had after standing up for our rights and facing such a senseless and awful injury. You represent my husband and myself, as you do millions of Americans facing the same demise and for that I am extremely grateful!

I just wanted to thank you for standing up for our rights and I'm sickened by what happened to you.  I really hope that you sue the Oakland police department for what they did to you, especially considering that they caused you brain damage.  I'm sure one of the occupiers had to have seen which officer fired this canister at you.

Here is Scott's first interview since being hospitalized for an injury suffered during the now infamous police crackdown at Occupy Oakland. You can hear that his speech is a little compromised, and he speaks a bit slowly. But given the severity of his injury, he has made a remarkable recovery. He continues to work with a speech therapist, and doctors expect him to fully recover.

Scott is a proud member of Iraq Veterans Against the War, and in this video he shares not only an update on his health, but also why he became involved in anti-war organizing and the Occupy Movement.
